17 September 2019, New York, USA- United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office wrapped up a series of core diplomatic trainings for the United Arab Emirates Diplomatic Corps in preparation for the upcoming 74th General Assembly. The training took place at the Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates to the UN, and lasted from 3-12 September, 2019.

9 September 2019, New York, USA – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research’s (UNITAR) New York Office kicked off the first session of the induction course for Qatari Diplomats in Conference Room D of the United Nations Headquarters. The program for the new diplomats includes courses on negotiation, the General Assembly, the Responsibility to Protect and Rules and Procedures of the UN.

6 September 2019, New York, USA - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) office in New York launched and welcomed the first class of its inaugural UNITAR Global Diplomacy Initiative (UGDI), a programme dedicated to providing a unique, intimate training experience to students in higher education while utilizing the connections and experience of UN delegates and academics.

10 -13 September 2019, New York, USA – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office, concluded their training of Qatari diplomats for the 74th Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly (GA) at the UN Secretariat Headquarters. On the second and third days of training the Qatar diplomats attended briefings for new delegates of the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly (GA) at conference Room 12, while the last two days included presentations by Ms. Jelena Pia-Comello, Ambassador Ion Botnaru, Dr. Guido Bertucci and Dr. Aldo Civico in Conference Room D.

11 September 2019, New York – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), New York Office, in partnership with the Permanent Mission of Singapore to the United Nations, concluded the briefing for the delegates of the UN General Assembly in Conference Room 12 of the UN Headquarters building.

10 September 2019, New York, USA – The United Nations Institute for Teaching and Research, in partnership with the Permanent Mission to Singapore to the United Nations, began the Briefing for Delegates on the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in Conference Room 12 of the UN Headquarters Secretariat.

5-6 September 2019, New York, USA - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office hosted the third and final sessions of its Orientation Course for New Delegates on the Fifth Committee at Conference Room 12, United Nations Headquarters. The third session focused on United Nations Reform Practices; Scale of Assessment and Human Resource Management. The final session on September 6th explored the resolution procedures for the Fifth Committee, as well as the UN Budget Process.

4 September 2019, New York, USA - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office hosted the second session of its Orientation Course for New Delegates on the 5th Committee in Conference Room 12, United Nations Headquarter. The Oversight Mechanisms of the United Nations and an overview of UN International Civil Service were the discussion topics of the session.

3 September 2019, New York, USA - The United Nations Institute for Research and Training (UNITAR) New York Office organized a training course with the sponsorship of the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations, entitled “Joint Swiss-UNITAR Briefing on United Nations Budgetary Matters.” The course is comprised of several sessions across four days and introduces delegates to the work, rules, and procedures of the Fifth Committee and the United Nations budget system.

21 August 2019 - New York, USA – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and Columbia Law School organized a Mediation briefing for students and faculty members from the University of Fortaleza - UNIFOR (Fundação Edson Queiroz - Universidade de Fortaleza), Brazil at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
