12 September 2011 – UNITAR has initiated training workshops for Capacity Building on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) in four ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand) and the People’s Republic of China. The training is part of the project “Strengthening National and Regional Capacities to Implement the GHS in ASEAN – Phase II”, funded by the European Union.

UNITAR and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) are pleased to announce the Symposium on “leveraging satellite applications for global challenges”. The event will take place in Geneva on 11 and 12 October 2011 hosted at World Meteorological Organization headquarters.

In the lead-up to the 17th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 17), the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand organised a five-day workshop on multilateral conference diplomacy, green diplomacy and their respective interlinkages.

The e-Learning course on “Negotiating for Conflict and Dispute Resolution”, which was mentored by senior negotiation expert Dr. El Hadji A. Diouf, had 31 participants from all five continents.
