In collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), UNITAR is organizing its annual Seminar on Intellectual Property on 23-24 February 2010 in New York.

This seminar aims to enhance delegates' understanding of intellectual property rights, which have become an important element of international negotiations due to their relevance to development, health, climate change, and other global challenges.
In response to popular demand from 2007, UNITAR New York will offer a workshop entitled: Elections to United Nations Organs. This two day workshop will take place on 17-18 February 2010 at the UN Headquarters.
 
This workshop aims to enhance the understanding of election procedures and processes among participating election officers; to equip participants with the necessary overview and tools to identify opportunities for candidatures; and to provide election officers with insights and experience of successful campaigning.
 
In a change of focus determined by the conclusion of search and rescue operations in Haiti, UNOSAT closed its Rapid Mapping activation and embarked at the request of UNDP on a comprehensive damage assessment analysis over Port-au-Prince and neighbouring cities.
