11 April 2019 New York USA - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) delivered its annual “Elections to UN Organs: Workshop for Election Officers”. With sponsorship of the Swedish contribution under the programme “Levelling the Playing Field”, the day-long workshop consisted of five seminars.

9 - 11 April 2019, Bangkok, Thailand – The Division for Multilateral Diplomacy (DMD) of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) successfully implemented an insightful workshop on Multilateral Conferences and Diplomacy in Bangkok, Thailand, from 9 to 11 April 2019.

Geneva, 4-5 April 2019 - In keeping with its vision of providing the highest quality of training and innovation, the Division for Multilateral Diplomacy (DMD) of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research successfully hosted the first ever workshop on Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination in its series of Core Diplomatic Training for the executive diploma to cater to modern needs of diplomats, government officials and professionals.

Geneva, 4 April 2019 - The Division for Multilateral Diplomacy (DMD) of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in collaboration with the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) successfully hosted a 6-day in-depth workshop in Geneva for students of the International Leaders Professional Diploma Program, from 22nd to 29th of March 2019.

3-4 April 2019, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – UNITAR and the International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Madrid (CIFAL Madrid) in collaboration with the Traffic and Emergency Response Association (Asociación de Rescate en Tráfico y Emergencias – ARTE), the Dominican Automobile Club (Automóvil Club Dominicano – ACD), and with the support of Fundación Smart Baby – JOIE conducted the training titled “Child Road Safety and Post-Crash Response”.

April 3 & 4 2019, Lagos, Nigeria - the Norwegian Embassy in Abuja and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) jointly held a two-day follow up Regional Conference on Marine Safety and Fisheries Protection for participants from West, Central and Southern Africa regions.

4 April 2019, Geneva, Switzerland - UN CC:Learn global members and key partners met in Bern, Switzerland for the 9th UN CC:Learn Steering Group Meeting. Representatives from FAO, IMO, UNDP, UNECA, UN Climate Change, UNITAR, UNSSC, WFP, the World Bank, WMO, as well as MIET-Africa, the NDC Partnership and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) participated in the event.

01 April 2019, New York, USA – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office in collaboration with Columbia Law School, hosted the third in the four-part workshop series on conflict resolution, mediation, and multilateral negotiation. This series is sponsored by the Government of Sweden under the programme “Leveling the Playing Field”. This workshop focused on Gender Equality, Peace-building and Conflict Resolution, emphasizing the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 5 for gender equality.
