Master programme
3 March 2021, Geneva, Switzerland - UNITAR’s Division for Multilateral Diplomacy is pleased to announce the launch of a new Master Programme in Anti-Corruption and Diplomacy and an Executive Diploma in Anti-Corruption and Diplomacy in cooperation with the International Anti-Corruption Academy.
Founded in 2010, the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) is an international organization based in Laxenburg, Austria, with 80 Parties, including 76 States and 4 international organizations. IACA’s mission is to deliver and facilitate anti-corruption education and training for professionals and practitioners from all sectors, providing research and platforms for dialogue and networking, bringing together field specialists and allowing for development of grounded, sustainable strategies and guidelines.
The Master in Anti-Corruption and Diplomacy is a modular postgraduate academic degree programme delivered in a blended format over the course of 18 months, set to be launched in September 2021. Designed as an in-career programme, the Master is designed for those who intend to avail an opportunity to study under some of the world’s most renowned experts in anti-corruption and diplomacy, in a participatory and unique international environment, and within a group of motivated and committed individuals. The Master seeks to deepen students’ understanding of anti-corruption and diplomacy, hence adding greater value to their respective careers, organisations and societies. The programme covers two disciplines, namely, anti-corruption and diplomacy and offers a series of interdisciplinary modules and cross–cutting themes relating to economics, ethics, international law, digital and cyber diplomacy, as well as essential skills for an international career such as negotiations, leadership, effective writing, public speaking, as well as stakeholder coordination and engagement. The programme utilizes lectures, case studies, interactive sessions, group work, and discussions to identify best practices in anti-corruption and diplomacy. Executive Diploma
The Executive Diploma in Anti-Corruption and Diplomacy is an online programme conducted part-time over the course of six months. Set to be launched in September 2021, it targets entry-level professionals, or professionals who wish to join a governmental organization, non-governmental organization or international organization involved in the field of anti-corruption, or other areas where corruption can be a challenge. The Diploma combines IACA’s expertise in anti-corruption and UNITAR’s expertise in diplomatic skills to train participants to work effectively in various multicultural contexts, while equipping them with the state-of-the-art knowledge in the field of anti-corruption. It offers a variety of modules on anti-corruption, cyber security, ethics and diplomatic skills, such as negotiation skills and cross-cultural communication. The programme utilizes online lectures, interactive sessions,group work, expert talks and discussions. It constitutes an excellent opportunity for participants from all sectors across the globe to enlarge their network.
