22 April 2019, UNITAR New York Office, USA – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office hosted a workshop with the Maryland-based organization Trees for the Future on the topic of diversifying nutrition and income sources. This was the final workshop of the three-part series on Using Agroforestry to Meet Sustainable Development Goals sponsored by the Permanent Mission of Sweden’s programme “Leveling the Playing Field”.

26 April 2019, New York, USA - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office hosted the Graduation Ceremony for the first class of its inaugural UNITAR Global Diplomacy Initiative (GDI), a programme dedicated to providing a unique, intimate training experience to students in higher education while utilizing the connections and experience of UN delegates and academics.

17 April 2019, New York, NY, USA - the Head of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office, Mr. Marco Suazo, met with Ms. Claudia María Samayoa Herrera, Rector of the Specialized Institute of Higher Education for Training at El Salvador, and H.E. Mr. Héctor Enrique Jaime Calderón, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of El Salvador to the United Nations, at UNITAR New York Office.

11 April 2019 New York USA - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) delivered its annual “Elections to UN Organs: Workshop for Election Officers”. With sponsorship of the Swedish contribution under the programme “Levelling the Playing Field”, the day-long workshop consisted of five seminars.

Geneva, 4-5 April 2019 - In keeping with its vision of providing the highest quality of training and innovation, the Division for Multilateral Diplomacy (DMD) of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research successfully hosted the first ever workshop on Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination in its series of Core Diplomatic Training for the executive diploma to cater to modern needs of diplomats, government officials and professionals.

Geneva, 4 April 2019 - The Division for Multilateral Diplomacy (DMD) of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in collaboration with the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) successfully hosted a 6-day in-depth workshop in Geneva for students of the International Leaders Professional Diploma Program, from 22nd to 29th of March 2019.

This series is sponsored by the Government of Sweden under the programme “Leveling the Playing Field”. This workshop focused on Gender Equality, Peace-building and Conflict Resolution, emphasizing the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 5 for gender equality.
