4 September 2019, New York, USA - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office hosted the second session of its Orientation Course for New Delegates on the 5th Committee in Conference Room 12, United Nations Headquarter. The Oversight Mechanisms of the United Nations and an overview of UN International Civil Service were the discussion topics of the session.

3 September 2019, New York, USA - The United Nations Institute for Research and Training (UNITAR) New York Office organized a training course with the sponsorship of the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations, entitled “Joint Swiss-UNITAR Briefing on United Nations Budgetary Matters.” The course is comprised of several sessions across four days and introduces delegates to the work, rules, and procedures of the Fifth Committee and the United Nations budget system.

21 August 2019 - New York, USA – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and Columbia Law School organized a Mediation briefing for students and faculty members from the University of Fortaleza - UNIFOR (Fundação Edson Queiroz - Universidade de Fortaleza), Brazil at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

26 July 2019, New York, NY, USA- United Nations Institute for Training and Research New York Office (UNITAR NYO) prepared a briefing program for the summer camp students enrolled with College Daily Inc. in China. The summer camp converges on diplomacy since College Daily Inc. is a company that directs on promoting studying overseas and global citizenship. The students were welcomed to the office of UNITAR in New York. H.E. Mr. Marco Suazo greeted the students and introduced the work of the United Nations and the responsibilities of UNITAR. The students expressed their gratitude and engaged in the discussions about multilateral diplomacy.

11 July 2019, New York City, United States – The United Nations Institute of Training and Research New York Office (UNITAR NYO) hosted a training with delegates from the Egyptian Diplomatic Academy in the Mission of Egypt to the United Nations. The training ran from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Permanent Mission of Egypt to the United Nations, in light of the ongoing High-Level Political Forum. The training was delivered by H.E. Dr. Ian Botnaru, Director of the General Assembly and ECOSOC Affairs Division, and Dr. Angel Angelov, First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Bulgaria.

10 July 2019, New York City, United States – United Nations Institute for Training and Research New York Office (UNITAR NYO) has held a morning briefing session with 15 delegates from the Egyptian Diplomatic Institute visiting New York during the High-Level Political Forum. The session was held in the conference room F in the United Nations headquarter between the head of office of UNITAR, H.E. Mr. Marco Suazo and Dr. Sameh Aboul-Enein, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Director of the Egyptian Institute for Diplomatic Studies.

In the summer of 2019, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research New York Office (UNITAR NYO), International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA), and United Nations Trust Facility Supporting Cooperation on Arms Regulation (UNSCAR) collaboratively published a “Quick Guide” to understanding the United Nations Secretary-General’s agenda for disarmament. In May 2018, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres published an 87-page disarmament agenda called “Securing Our Common Future: An Agenda for Disarmament,” in which he calls for a new method of disarmament to bring about global peace and security.
