CIFAL Cascais was established in 2023 and is hosted by the Nova School of Business and Economics serving as a key center for Portuguese-speaking countries. CIFAL Cascais aspires to empower people through world-class training courses and research to contribute to a sustainable future.
Based in Latin America’s greenest city, CIFAL Curitiba’s main objective is to offer training opportunities aimed to build capacities of key decision-makers, at different levels, to plan and sustainably design cities, and to address key dimensions of sustainable development. The target audience of the training sessions consists mainly of representatives from private, public, and third-sector parties working with local development. CIFAL Doha was established in 2022 in collaboration with The Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Centre (ROLACC) to create a framework enabling the permanent exchange of experience and expertise in the Gulf Region through strategic partnerships and training activities.
CIFAL Durban provides training to local government authorities to help them to identify the most pressing development challenges, learn how to conduct strategic urban planning processes and better respond to local development related issues. The Centre plays a key role in strengthening governance by strengthening capacities of local authorities in South Africa.
CIFAL Ecuador was inaugurated in 2014 with the objective of strengthening the capacities of local government authorities and civil society leaders in support of sustainable development. It aims to support local authorities to implement the new Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations
CIFAL Flanders offers a wide range of activities related to Leadership for Sustainability through training workshops and seminars; briefings; conferences and public lectures; side events; and online courses. It also engages in training-related and other advisory support services to governments aimed at achieving broader social and economic development outcomes, such as developing institutional capacities.
CIFAL Honolulu Centre aspires to empower Pacific peoples to create a sustainable future that reflects their values and the priorities of their communities.
