CIFAL Flanders offers a wide range of activities related to Leadership for Sustainability through training workshops and seminars; briefings; conferences and public lectures; side events; and online courses. It also engages in training-related and other advisory support services to governments aimed at achieving broader social and economic development outcomes, such as developing institutional capacities.

CIFAL Jeju (South Korea) was established in 2010, to build regional and local governments capacities for green growth and human security through an annual series of specialised workshops. Based in South Korea’s southern most territory, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, which has been designated as the “Island of World Peace” by the Korean government in 2005, CIFAL Jeju shares South Korea’s expertise in green growth and human security, to exchange knowledge and good practices and to strengthen City-to-City Cooperation (C2C) in the region.
CIFAL Kigali was established in 2022 in collaboration with the Rwanda Cooperation Initiative with a mission to become a global gateway for the development of knowledge exchange by serving as a hub for learning that promotes innovative development initiatives through national and international cooperation.
Established in 2023, CIFAL Lebanon is hosted by the Global CEO Alliance, located in Beirut, Lebanon, offers diverse learning opportunities, and promotes knowledge exchange among global public servants and leaders, enhancing capacities, fostering informed decision-making, and advancing sustainable development.
CIFAL Madrid was established in 2017 as a partnership between UNITAR and the Royal Automobile Club of Spain (RACE). CIFAL Madrid aims to benefit government officials and leaders around the world by delivering training that enhances the capacities of government officials and stakeholders on road safety. The CIFAL provides a range of learning opportunities on road safety management and to facilitate knowledge sharing between public servants and leaders from Spain, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
CIFAL Málaga was established in 2018 with the vision of becoming a training center of reference for the entire Mediterranean, where local, regional and national leaders can acquire skills that allow them to advance sustainable development in their communities and, ultimately improve the quality of life of their citizens.
