8 April 2022, Geneva, Switzerland – The Executive Certificate in Global Business Leadership, created in partnership between UNITAR and Babson College Executive Education, has been designed with working professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs in mind. Therefore, the number of modules has been reduced from six to four to allow for greater flexibility for those who need to juggle many obligations in their personal and professional lives. UNITAR and Babson College are also delighted to announce that the fee of the Executive Certificate has been significantly reduced accordingly, and that a special further discount is available for participants coming from least developed regions.

7 April 2022, Hiroshima, Japan – Japanese professional basketball team Hiroshima Dragonflies and UNITAR have agreed to work together towards the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). On 7 April 2022, Hiroshima Dragonflies president and CEO Mr. Nobuyoshi Ura and UNITAR Division for Prosperity director Ms. Mihoko Kumamoto signed the memorandum of understanding in a ceremony at the UNITAR Hiroshima Office.

6 April 2022, Hiroshima, Japan – United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Division for Prosperity, with Sunlight (a home-care brand under Unilever Kenya Limited) and Absa Bank Kenya, invite women in Kenya interested in entrepreneurship to apply to the Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Leadership Training for Women Entrepreneurs in Africa programme. The application deadline is 15 April 2022.

04 April 2022, New York, United States (Virtual) – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York office, kickstarted the two-day presentations of the workshop titled, “Elections to UN Organs: Workshop for Election Officers”. Garnering 132 participants from around the world, this workshop successfully enhanced the understanding of election procedures and processes among participating election officers, and equipped participants with the tools to identify opportunities for candidatures, and provided election officers with insights into successful campaigning.

31 March 2022, New York, United States (Virtual) – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York office, in partnership with the Columbia Law School Mediation Clinic, continued the three-event Spring 2022 presentations of the Columbia Law School Series with the second session entitled “Negotiation Fundamentals for Diplomatic Leadership”. The session gathered over 200 participants from around the world and covered the topic of navigating negotiations and asking the right questions to achieve desired goals and outcomes.

31 March 2022, Hiroshima, Japan – UNITAR has launched the second phase of its Gender Empowerment Now! Project in Jordan and Lebanon. The project seeks to build the capacity of public institutions to mainstream gender equality. This second phase started from 5 April 2022.

28 March 2022, Hiroshima, Japan – UNITAR Division for Prosperity and Columbia Business School Executive Education (New York, USA) will launch a new partnership on digital health and technologies. The two institutions signed an agreement [on 28 February 2022] to pilot the training course UNITAR Social Entrepreneurship with Digital Health in Africa and the Middle East. The collaboration seeks to spark innovation using Columbia Business School’s world-class knowledge.

17 March 2022, Geneva, Switzerland. On 17 March 2022, UNITAR, the University of Geneva, and Open Geneva hosted the fourth edition of the Geneva Trialogue under the theme of Open Innovation for Education, launching the 2022 Open Geneva Festival.
