Finalizing a series of successful negotiations between UNITAR, the Special Self-Governing Province of Jeju and the International Peace Foundation (IPF) – started mid 2009 – M. Carlos Lopes, Executive Director of UNITAR, will be visiting the island of Jeju (Republic of South Korea) from March 30th to March 31th.

8 June 2017, Jeju, Republic of Korea – As part of a collaborative agreement with Diageo, UNITAR delivered its third road safety capacity building workshop scheduled for 2017. The three-day workshop “Strengthening Road Safety in Cities: Asia Pacific” took place in Jeju, Republic of Korea from 31 May to 2 June, briging together representatives from local governments, academia and the private sector.

Delivering innovative training and conducting research is at the heart of UNITAR’s mission. On the 18th and the 19th November 2010, the Manager of UNITAR’s Peacekeeping Training Programme (PTP) took part in a series of events organised by the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. On this occasion, UNITAR was represented at the Study and Work Abroad Fair where students were introduced to PTP’s new courses on peace operations.
