UNOSAT took part in an innovative initiative in the area of artistic imaging leading to an exhibition in Geneva in March 2011 and a permanent exhibition in Karlsruhe. This exhibition is the result of a Workshop by Armin Linke and Laurent Schmid, with students of the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG), students of the Geneva University of Arts and Design (HEAD) and of the Zurich University of Arts (ZHdK).

Geneva 3 March 2011 - Based on a rapid assessment of very-high resolution satellite imagery recorded this morning at 11:26 am local time, UNOSAT released the first satellite based report focusing on people moving away from Libya to flee violence. Following the success of the Cancun climate change negotiations last December (COP16), UNITAR is committed to supporting the progress of multilateral negotiations under the UNFCCC. Throughout 2011, the Instituteās Multilateral Diplomacy Programme will be working to strengthen the participation of Parties and key stakeholders in forthcoming consultations and decision-making processes, so as to harvest the momentum generated by the outcomes in Cancun and to enhance consensus-building between all Parties working towards a post-2012 climate change agreement.
