12 December 2016, Hiroshima, Japan – The UNITAR Hiroshima Office has successfully completed the first workshop of the UNITAR Iraq Fellowship Programme: Entrepreneurship and Leadership Youth Training, held in Amman, Jordan, from 28 November to 2 December. As the situation in Pakistan continues to be a main concern due to new rainfall, UNOSAT analysts have completed on Thursday this week a series of maps derived from satellite imagery and aimed at identifying flood extent and impact on the affected populations in the Republic of Moldova.

On the 6th and 7th of September OHCHR and UNITAR held the second edition of Human Rights Orientation Programme for Diplomats in Geneva. This Orientation Programme was held in the Palais Wilson, the former seat of the League of Nations, now the seat of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
This event was an opportunity for the fifty-six diplomats, from forty-one Member States, to enhance their understanding of Human Rights before the starting of the Human Rights Council which opened its fifteenth session in Geneva on 13th September.
