The UNOSAT Emergency Mapping Service (UNOSAT-EMS) is a 24/7 service that provides satellite imagery analysis support following rapid on-set disasters, complex emergencies, and crises. The Service is free of charge for the emergency phase of the response. The UNOSAT-EMS was established in 2003 funded in the last three project cycles by Norway through Norad (Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation) and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 南スーダンの国内人口の3分の2は30歳未満であり、若者の90%は正規の雇用につけない状態でいます。多くの南スーダン人が生活のサポートをコミュニティーや家族から得ている状態で、職を得ることは最優先の課題となっています。また、南スーダンは、長い戦乱を経験したことにより、経済が不安定な状況にあります。加えて、政府の支出の多くが軍部に充てられている中、治安の維持が社会の最重要課題となっています。このような南スーダンの状況を考慮し、ユニタール南スーダン奨学プログラムは、南スーダンの青年層のより良い未来のために必要とされるプロジェクトマネジメント、リーダーシップ、そしてビジネススキルを得る機会を研修生へ提供します。

Franklin University Switzerland and UNITAR organized a joint event during the Open Geneva Hackathon Festival. The online Hackathon "Food as a nexus for synchronic urban and rural development" offered a platform to generate innovative ideas to rethink and improve food as a linkage for development in rural and urban areas.
