2021年3月26日・広島 ー 国連ユニタールは、広島県との第7期特定目的拠出金契約（2021年度～2023年度）に合意しました。2003年の設立以来、国連ユニタール広島事務所が実施する平和構築や軍縮など様々な分野の研修を世界中の約5万人もの人々に届けることができたのは、広島県のご支援のおかげであり、改めて感謝申しあげます。
2021年3月24日に本契約の調印式をオンラインで開催しました。湯崎英彦広島県知事からは、「国連ユニタールとの第7回特定目的拠出金契約書の合意をとても嬉しく思っています。引き続き国連ユニタール広島事務所の活躍を楽しみにしています」と激励をいただきました。また、被爆75年を機に、核兵器のない平和な世界の実現に向けた取り組みを強化するための新たな提案として策定された「ひろしまイニシアティブ」や、4月1日から発足する推進組織「へいわ創造機構ひろしま」（HOPe「ホープ」）」への国連ユニタールの協力に感謝の意を表されました。

2022年6月・広島 - 持続可能な開発目標（SDGs）との関連付けを探すだけに終わらず、SDGsの視点を生かして自分たちの方針や政策をアップデートすることが求められている、と慶應義塾大学大学院特任助教で国連大学サステイナビリティ高等研究所研究員の高木超さんは語る。
2020年から国連ユニタール広島青少年大使プログラムの講師を務め、SDGsに関するアドバイザーとしても活躍する高木さん。2030年までに目標を達成するためのSDGsの「行動の10年」に入り、日本でもかつてない機運を感じる一方、まだ「知る」段階を目指したプログラムが多いとも思う。
