2021年3月5日・広島 ― 広島が被爆75年となった2020年、国連もまた創設75周年を迎え、世界の声を聴き国際協力の強化を推し進める「UN75イニシアティブ」の取組を行いました。国連ユニタールも参加しており、その締めくくりとしてオンラインフォーラム「私たちの未来を創るために～25年後の未来を見据えたスポーツと平和～」を開催します。
「若者の力」と「スポーツの力」を糸口に、国連のさらなる挑戦や持続可能な開発目標（SDGs）について自由な対話を行います。広島の原爆投下と国連創設の100周年に当たる25年後に向け何をすべきか、何ができるか議論する場になればと思います。Deportare Partners代表/元陸上選手の為末大さん、国連事務次長補兼ユニタール総代表のニキル・セス、国際協力や平和に関心のある地元の高校生3名、広島テレビの宮脇靖知アナウンサーが参加します。

2021年8月5日・広島 － 昨今の新型コロナウイルスの世界的流行により、持続可能な未来の構築を目指す国際社会において、不測の事態に備える重要性が浮き彫りになりました。こうした背景を踏まえ、今般、国連経済社会局（UNDESA）、国連ユニタール主催、広島県とへいわ創造機構ひろしま（HOPe）の協力により、国連ハイレベル政治フォーラム特別イベントとして「核兵器廃絶と我らの持続可能な未来」を巡るオンラインパネルディスカッションを開催しました。
湯崎英彦氏（広島県知事兼HOPe代表）のビデオメッセージに続き、島田久仁彦氏（HOPeプリンシパル・ディレクター）をモデレーターとして迎え、ニキル・セス氏（国連事務次長補兼国連ユニタール総代表）、ダグラス・ショー氏（核脅威イニシャティブ・シニアコンサルタント）、バンダ・プロスコヴァ氏（プラハビジョン持続可能な安全保障研究所副会長）、鈴木健斗氏（自分ごと化プロジェクト代表）の４名のパネリストが、新型コロナウイルスと核問題という2つの社会課題を巡って討議しました。各パネリストは、国際社会には、目下のパンデミック危機に対応するだけではなく、今回の教訓から学び、核戦争などのリスクの顕在化を防ぐ対策が求められている、と警鐘を鳴らしました。
