2021年3月18日・広島 - 近年では政治、文化及び社会経済分野における女性の活躍の場と範囲が広がりを見せていますが、国際女性デーは、20世紀の始めに女性労働者が労働条件の改善を求めたデモが起源だと言われています。ロシアでは3月8日は女性の日として1917年に公式な休日として制定されました。国連が正式に国際女性デーを制定したのは1977年。それ以降3月8日は世界的に女性の生き方を考え、活躍を称える日となりました。この100年間で働く女性は飛躍的に増え、役割も多様化しています。しかしながら、ジェンダー平等に関する課題は山積みです。

UNITAR Division for Prosperity launched its new training programme “Bolstering livelihoods: Digital reskilling for Ukrainian women evacuees in Poland” on 16 October 2023 at an event in Warsaw.
Guests included government officials, programme partners, academic institutions, NGOs and a participant of the new training.
The training programme will run from October 2023 to March 2024. Close to 1000 Ukrainian women evacuees in Poland have applied.

On 22 August 2024, the “Leader for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific: Sea and Human Security” programme concluded its first phase with a final webinar. This first phase featured asynchronous online learning on the EdApp platform and four webinars, from 20 June to 22 August. Phase 2 of the training programme will be in-person workshops, to be held in Jakarta (Asian cohort, 10-20 September) and in Nadi (Pacific cohort, 1-10 October), for the 80 top performers from each cohort (160 total).
