11 October 2023, Geneva, Switzerland - In collaboration with the Global Surgery Foundation, Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health, VSee, and Health Tech Without Borders, UNITAR is pleased to announce the launch of the webinar series “Breaking Barriers: Exploring the Future of Global Health Technologies”. Health technologies have become a cornerstone in the worldwide pursuit of universal healthcare access. Their multifaceted impact encompasses enhanced healthcare efficiency, extended healthcare services reach, and secure health information sharing. These innovations foster care continuity and reduce medical errors.
The series will hold a total of 7 webinars aiming to raise awareness about technologies that can amplify telemedicine access, particularly in low-resource settings where the need is most acute. Telemedicine is a powerful tool for bridging healthcare gaps, especially in low-resource settings where telemedicine emerges as a transformative solution, breaking down barriers to healthcare access. By providing timely, cost-effective care and connecting underserved communities with expert medical guidance, it promises to bridge critical gaps in healthcare delivery and improve overall health outcomes.
The monthly open-access webinars will feature experts in the field of healthcare, technology, telehealth and from different backgrounds. Each session will follow a dynamic "fireside chat" format, lasting about 60 minutes.
This webinar series is open to healthcare professionals, policymakers, technology innovators, and anyone interested in the future of healthcare.
The launch is taking place on Thursday, October 19th at 4 pm (CET).

About VSee:
Founded in 2008, VSee was born out of the visionary Stanford University Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Lab and Computer Graphics Lab in Silicon Valley, where its co-founders Drs. Milton Chen and Erika Chuang were completing their PhDs. Driven by user-centric design, the initial VSee video application was created to make remote work simple. Following a pivotal opportunity to deploy VSee for the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Gabon, VSee began to focus exclusively on the healthcare sector, pioneering the first virtual waiting rooms as well as other groundbreaking telehealth workflows and capabilities. Over the last 15 years, VSee has built up a comprehensive suite of flexible telehealth building blocks, becoming the fastest platform to move innovation to reality. Today, we are the go-to digital transformation tool for healthcare enterprises to address the dual challenges of patient engagement and clinician shortage.
