St. Gallen Students Visit UNITAR for the Second Time
08 February 2017, Geneva, Switzerland - The 2nd school visit of students from the St. Gallen Kantonsschule am Burggraben (Switzerland) to the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) took place on Wednesday, 1st February 2017 in Geneva. The visit was requested by the school as part of the 3-day Students’ United Nations simulation in Geneva. St. Gallen students participated in the 1st Youth Climate Dialogues with the Lilongwe Girls Secondary School (Malawi) on November 2015.

12 September 2011 – UNITAR has initiated training workshops for Capacity Building on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) in four ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand) and the People’s Republic of China. The training is part of the project “Strengthening National and Regional Capacities to Implement the GHS in ASEAN – Phase II”, funded by the European Union.

UNITAR - Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) partnership has come to fruition with the signing of a Special Purpose Grant agreement (SPG) and subsequently the selection of credible candidates from all the 23 Local Government Areas in Rivers State for the UNITAR/RKK Technical Skills Training in Norway and Namibia.

Geneva 3 March 2011 - Based on a rapid assessment of very-high resolution satellite imagery recorded this morning at 11:26 am local time, UNOSAT released the first satellite based report focusing on people moving away from Libya to flee violence. The report shows several thousands of people located primarily within the Ra´s Ajdir border crossing facility along the Libyan-Tunisian border. On 8 and 9 March 2011, the UNITAR New York Office organized the fifth annual Workshop on Elections to United Nations Organs with over 35 participants. The workshop was designed to respond to the specific needs of election officers - many of them new to this position or newly posted at the United Nations altogether.
