Close to 100 Participants from the South Trained on Social Media Tools for Development in 2015
13 November 2015, Geneva, Switzerland - Today the “Innovative Collaboration for Development” Fall 2015 session ended, closing this year's sessions of the e-Learning course. In 2015, close to 100 participants coming from 44 countries, of which 36 are developing and Least Developed Countries were trained on the use of social media in a development context.

Mrs Khaemeuy Chao is an employee of the technical staff of the Weather Forecasting and Warning Division, Department of Meteorology and Hydrology of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. Enes Karaibrahimoglu heard about the opportunity to translate the course “Defending Human Rights in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” and jumped at the chance to get involved in translation for Turkish.
The course was created by UNITAR and UNESCO, while SALTO Participation & Information Resource Centre (SALTO PI) took the lead in coordinating translation efforts.
Enes hopes that translating the course into Turkish and other languages will foster more discussion about the use of AI, by getting more people interested in AI.
