On 20 and 21 June 2011, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) will organize a two-day Orientation Programme for Diplomats on Human Rights which will be held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. the programme will be run by a team of human rights experts from OHCHR.

25 May 2011, New York, USA. The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) implemented a seminar for diplomats on United Nations Operational Activities for Development at United Nations Headquarters, New York.

The content of the workshop was designed to meet particular challenges faced by a newly- elected member of the Security Council. As such, the workshop was organized in response to a specific request by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa for training in that area. “Being a Council member, official statements have to be prepared and delivered by our delegation on a daily basis.
