The event, which ran on Monday 25 September and Tuesday 26 September, focused on various aspects of AI, including governance, ethics, education, and the corporate world.

18 September 2023, New York, USA - On 11-12 September 2023, The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) office in New York, in partnership with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Singapore to the United Nations as Chair of the Forum of Small States (FOSS), concluded a two-day course entitled “Briefing New Delegates on the 78th Session of the General Assembly and the Main Committees.” Approximately 160 delegates attended the training in person and online to learn about the operational aspects of the complex work the General Assembly (GA) undertakes.
18 September, New York, USA - On 5 - 7 September, The JOINT SWISS-UNITAR BRIEFING ON UNITED NATIONS BUDGETARY MATTERS is a three-day training programme, co-organized with the Permanent Mission of Switzerland, caters to the needs of the incoming delegates of the United Nations General Assembly’s Fifth Committee. The training received more than 100 delegates joining the sessions each day. 
13 September 2023, Geneva, Switzerland -  The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and International Negotiation Agency (ADN Group) will jointly host the much-anticipated Third Edition of World Negotiation Day at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland to bring together the most distinguished dignitaries. This prestigious event will unite the world’s most renowned contributors to peaceful negotiations, conflict resolution, inequality reduction, and climate solutions. In addition to celebrating peaceful conflict resolution and providing a platform for network-building, the event will conclude with an award ceremony in which a carefully selected jury of high-level individuals vote for ‘Best Negotiator of the Year’ in accordance with the UNITAR guidelines. UNITAR and ADN aim to build on the successes of the 2019 and 2021 editions, which brought together over 250 participants each.
September 4, 2023, Geneva, Switzerland - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is delighted to announce that its “Art for Peace” Collection was selected as a finalist at the SDG Digital GameChangers Award, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in the “Peace” Category.

The process invited submissions from the Youth, Government, Private sector, Civil society, International Organizations and UN Agencies, as well as from Academia and the Technical community, and received over 450 solutions.
1 September 2023, New York, USA – UNITAR office in New York together with the Permanent Missions of Ecuador, Finland, and Malaysia held the “Transition Workshop” to support the incoming team of the Office of the President of the General Assembly (OPGA). This marks the third iteration of this feature that aims to support this crucial transition.
29 August, 2023, New York, United States – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) welcomed Dr. Lori Foster, professor of Organizational Psychology at North Carolina State University, Visiting Scholar at Duke University’s Center for Advanced Hindsight, Honorary Professor at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, and President of the International Association of Applied Psychology, who gave a training to UN Department of Safety and Security (DSS) staff on Unconscious Bias.
The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and EU Business School are proud to announce the siginig of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will see the launch of a new Master's Programme in Digital International Relationships and Diplomacy. The MoU solidifies this collaboration, marking a significant step forward in fostering education that aligns with the demands of the digital era. The MoU was successfully signed in a ceremony held at the UNITAR Headquarters in Geneva on 17th August with representatives from both institutions in attendance.
