29 July 2025, New York, USA - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), in collaboration with the Fosun Foundation, commenced the fourth edition of its flagship “Global Diplomacy Bootcamp” at United Nations Headquarters in New York. Held during a landmark year marking the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, this week-long programme from 21 July to 25 July brought together a cohort of globally minded young leaders to engage in intensive training focused on the UN system, multilateral negotiations, and the practical skills essential to international diplomacy. This year’s edition placed particular emphasis on youth-led innovation and the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across all sessions.
Climate change negotiations represent a crucial dimension of 21st-century diplomacy and global governance. As negotiations become increasingly complex due to the variety of stakeholders, competing national interests, and evolving scientific findings, there is a growing demand for practical knowledge and skills. Many negotiators face challenges navigating the negotiation process at climate forums, especially ahead of major events such as the Conference of the Parties (COPs).

The Pura Vida NFT Collection, developed under the UNITAR–UPEACE Art for Peace initiative, reflects a creative and strategic use of digital innovation to address global inequality in education. Through the sale of 5,000 unique NFT artworks by Costa Rican artist Gussa, the project supports a fellowship programme for candidates from Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States, enabling access to graduate education in peace, development, and international law.
