16 October 2025, Geneva, Switzerland – UNITAR’s Division for Multilateral Diplomacy is partnering with the Dubai Police to launch a new series of capacity-building programmes. The first training, taking place from 21 to 23 October in Dubai, focuses on Human Rights in Policing and marks an important milestone in the collaboration.

The three-day training aims to strengthen and expand existing human rights practices within the Force’s operations, ensuring that principles of dignity, fairness, and accountability are embedded in everyday policing. Through interactive sessions and case studies, participants will explore how a rights-based approach enhances professionalism, public trust, and effectiveness in maintaining security.

This initiative sets the foundation for a long-term collaboration between UNITAR and the Dubai Police, reinforcing the UAE’s continued commitment to international standards of excellence in law enforcement.
19 September 2025, New York, NY - The Education for Tomorrow conference at the UN united global leaders, academics, and innovators to rethink education for the tech-driven future. Hosted by UNITAR and partners, it highlighted the role of AI, interdisciplinary learning, and a new concept called Industrialogy in promoting sustainability and global cooperation. Key launches included the Global Think Tank for STEAM Education and a hands-on workshop aligning education with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
22 September 2025, New York, USA – On 18 September 2025, the New York Office held a customised training programme titled Enhancing Competencies in Multilateral Diplomacy at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait. Designed to strengthen the capacity of Kuwaiti delegates, the one-day course provided an in-depth orientation to the UN system and practical tools for effective multilateral engagement.
18 September 2025, New York, USA – On 15-16 September 2025, the UNITAR office in New York, in partnership with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Singapore and the Forum of Small States (FOSS), convened the annual Briefing for Delegates on the General Assembly and the Main Committees. The two-day programme, held at UN Headquarters, brought together 275 participants, including newly arrived diplomats, for a comprehensive orientation to the structure, rules, and practices of the General Assembly, while also fostering a deeper understanding of its evolving role within the UN system.
This year’s edition carried special significance as it coincided with the 80th anniversary of the United Nations—a milestone moment to reflect on eight decades of multilateralism and collective action.
