25 May 2022, Geneva, Switzerland - The Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center (ROLACC), in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) delivered a two-day virtual conference on “Contemporary Literacy on Anti-Corruption.”

18 May 2022, Bangkok, Thailand – With the objective of increasing awareness of the consequences of drink driving, and contribute to change the attitudes of thousands of people towards drink driving by 2030, UNITAR and Diageo launched “Wrong Side of the Road”, which is an anti-drink driving learning experience that allows people to have a conversation with a real drink driver to help them understand the effects of alcohol, and the shame and stigma that comes with drink driving.

11 May 2022, Quito, Ecuador – Road traffic crashes claim 1.35 million lives each year and as many as 50 million more people are injured. They are the eight-leading cause of death across all age groups globally and the number one leading cause among young people aged between 5 and 29 years, costing governments approximately 3% of GDP and 5% in low- and middle-income countries (World Health Organization, WHO 2018).

3 May 2022, Mérida, México – In line with Sustainable Development Goal 3.6: "Halve the number of road traffic injuries and deaths", UNITAR’s Autosobriety Training Programme seeks to contribute to changes in drivers' attitudes and contribute to the reduction of alcohol-related road crashes. The programme is aimed at government authorities responsible for road safety, road users and drivers, universities, the media, private companies, among others.

7 April 2022, Geneva, Switzerland – The CIFAL Global Network (CGN) is UNITAR’s global network of affiliated training centres, uniquely positioned to support leaders on the local level in their quest to advance sustainable development.

The University of Victoria (UVic) and the United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR) announced today the establishment of the first CIFAL—International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders—on North America’s West Coast. CIFAL Victoria, based at UVic, is only the second such UN training centre in Canada.

On March 16th, 2022 UNITAR opened CIFAL Doha, this long-awaited center is the 23rd center to join the global network.

February 2022, Geneva, Switzerland - The Private Sector Regional Centre for support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (CR/SP) and CIFAL Bogota along with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) hosted a high-level virtual conversation called “A Conversation with CEOs & Leaders” on Tuesday, 8 February 2022. For this session, the topic was “Human Rights: a pillar for Corporate Strategy & the 2030 Agenda”.

Breastfeeding is a critical aspect in achieving SDG2 and SDG3 — which include ending hunger, improving nutrition, and promoting health.
