5 May 2020, Madrid, Spain - UNITAR and the International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Madrid (CIFAL Madrid) together with RACE and the European University are pleased to open its 2020 edition of the Postgraduate Programme “Expert in Road Safety Management and Administration”. The four-week academic programme aims to equip participants with knowledge about strategic initiatives that have been successful in reducing road traffic crashes.

13 February 2020, Geneva, Switzerland - UNITAR developed the “E-learning course on Entrepreneurship for Migrants and Refugees” as a joint effort with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

13 February 2020, Geneva, Switzerland - The Republic of Ecuador requested UNITAR to develop the Knowledge Hub for Migration and Sustainable Development, based on its expertise to enhance decision-making and support country-level action for overcoming global challenges through capacity building.

13 February 2020, Geneva, Switzerland- As part of the 12th Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) summit, the Marketplace on migration initiatives took place from 21 to 23 January 2020, as a ‘matchmaking mechanism’ between those facing specific policy and practice issues and those providing targeted solutions in migration and development.

11 February, 2020, Geneva, Switzerland – UNITAR jointly with the International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Madrid (CIFAL Madrid), the Royal Automobile Club of Spain (Real Automóvil Club de España, RACE), and with the support of JOIE launched a three-year training initiative aimed at strengthening the capacity of government officials and road users to increase the proportion of motor vehicle occupants using standard child restraint systems.
