16 February 2023, Hiroshima, Japan – UNITAR Division for Prosperity will hold the first in-person workshop in Japan for Great Ideas Space: Entrepreneurship for Public Health and COVID-19 Recovery in Egypt, Iraq and Lebanon. The programme trains entrepreneurs and founders of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) so they have greater knowledge, skills and networks to develop and run business projects that address challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic and contribute to building a resilient health sector in their communities.

9 February 2023, Hiroshima, Japan – UNITAR Division for Prosperity/Hiroshima Office will resume its in-person Nuclear Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (NDNP) Training Programme in Hiroshima, Japan. The UNITAR programme gives diplomats detailed insights into the protocols and procedures of disarmament and non-proliferation conferences – such as the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) Review Conference and meetings on the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons – and builds their communication and negotiation skills.

She was therefore delighted to fulfil that passion with her participation in the UNITAR Youth and Anti-corruption Programme in Sahel Region in 2019. Not only did Francine-Blanche learn about the multidimensional problem of corruption, but she also gained the resources to be an actor of change – in her workplace and the broader fight against corruption in Cameroon.

30 January – 3 February 2023, New York, USA — The UNITAR office in New York has successfully concluded the second week of training for the PGA Fellowship. The training took place at the United Nations Secretariat building with two sessions per day, totaling 20 sessions within two weeks. Each session was led by high-level United Nations officials and experts, handpicked by UNITAR NYO for their expertise on each specific subject area.
23-25 January 2023, New York, USA - The series of training for the 2023 PGA Fellowship Programme started Monday, 23 January, with an Introduction to the Security Council and Principal Organs led by Dr Angel Angelov, Consul General to Bulgaria and Former Deputy Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations. To open the training sessions, Head of UNITAR Office in New York, Mr. Marco Suazo gave opening remarks to the fellows and introduced Dr Angelov before the session started.
