CONFERENCE OVERVIEW
In response to the ongoing climate crisis and the pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the UN 2030 agenda, UNITAR introduces its inaugural international research conference. This significant event seeks to deepen the understanding of Climate Security and its profound implications on Peace and Security. The first UNITAR International Research Conference will take place in Bonn (Germany), hosted at the UN Campus, on the 24th of November 2023. We have received contributions from more than 25 different countries, including research papers and essays from more than 25 different institutions. There will be a research network event on the 23rd of November 2023 on campus for the researchers, scholars, and collaborative partners to interact and share best practices.

The inaugural conference of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) held on 23-24 November 2023 at the UN Bonn Campus focused on the critical theme of Climate Security. The conference brought together a diverse range of participants, including policymakers, experts, practitioners, and representatives from governments, international organizations, civil society, and academia.
