31 May 2021, Geneva, Switzerland - The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the Open Geneva Association have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the education and practice of open innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On 13 June 2023, UNITAR signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Hiroshima Corporation for Higher Education (HCHE) in charge of managing Eikei University of Hiroshima.
The MOU will allow UNITAR to support students of Eikei University of Hiroshima with their curriculum and Project-Based Learning (PBL) in tackling real-world issues.
