30 January 2024, Hiroshima, Japan – UNITAR Division for Prosperity will hold the “Digital Champions” forum on 20-21 February 2024 in Warsaw as the final session of the digital reskilling training programme for Ukrainian women evacuees in Poland. Nearly 20 diplomats and government officials from Asian countries completed the UNITAR Hiroshima Nuclear Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Training Programme, held 13-18 February 2023. The diplomats updated their understanding of the global nuclear debate and met young activists to learn about their initiatives for a nuclear-free world. The programme’s past two cycles were run virtually due to COVID-19-related restrictions. Learning about nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation in the symbolic city of Hiroshima offered participants a deep learning experience.

Two years ago when Sitra Abubaker founded her digital marketing start-up Social.ly in Ethiopia, she admits she had no educational background and no professional experience to run a business. I am delighted to share our work and progress of 2018 at UNITAR Hiroshima Office. 2018 has been a fruitful year for both Hiroshima and the UNITAR Hiroshima Office. Hiroshima’s local baseball team, Toyo Carp, has claimed the Central League Championship for the third year in a row.
