2019年9月21日、日本福岡県上毛町―国際平和デーである9月21日に、「広島・長崎爆心地中間点上毛町―未来へつなぐ平和の架け橋事業」平和祈念式典が、地理的に広島と長崎の爆心地の中間点である上毛町にて実施されました。事業を主導した錦織亮雄氏は、自身が被爆者であるとともに広島の復興に貢献してきた建築家であり、グリーン・レガシー・ヒロシマ・イニシアチブ（GLH）で長年コミッティー・メンバーを務めています。当事業では、長崎と広島から送られた被爆樹木を上毛町大池公園の池の両サイドにそれぞれ植樹する取り組みであり、昨年度から始まりました。橋のモニュメントが広島サイドと長崎サイドの真ん中に建てられています。, GLHコミッティー・メンバーの7名とユニタール・スタッフの事務局チームが、植樹式及び平和式典に、九州地方で唯一のGLHパートナーである立命館アジア太平洋大学のファエゼ・マヒチ先生と共に参加しました。植樹式は広島東南ロータリー・クラブが主宰している上毛町の広島・長崎爆心地中間点事業の一部でした。午後からの平和式典では、錦織氏は自身の被爆体験や平和な世界へのビジョンをお話しされました。, この植樹式は錦織氏の平和への取組や視野に感銘を受けたすべての方々―東南ロータリーの皆様、上毛町役場の皆様、GLHの樹木医である堀口力先生といった皆様の献身によって実現...

2024年8月30日、広島―世界の若きリーダーたちは、2024年8月29日に広島で開催されたユース国際会議で、核兵器なき平和な未来を実現するために団結を呼びかけました。この会議は、日本政府の支援を受け国連軍縮部が実施する「ユース非核リーダー基金（YLF）」事業の広島・長崎スタディツアーの最終日に開催されました。国連訓練調査研究所（ユニタール）は、国連軍縮部 （UNODA）のパートナーとして、初開催となるスタディツアーをサポートしました。このツアーには、世界37カ国から若者49人が参加し、核兵器のない世界の実現のために必要な知識を深め、具体的な行動計画について議論をするため被爆地に集結しました。このスタディツアーは、参加者が核兵器使用がもたらす脅威や破滅的な被爆の実相について被爆地で理解を深め、核兵器のない世界を実現するために、未来を担う若者たちのネットワークを構築することを目的としています。参加者は平和公園や原爆資料館を訪問し、被爆者や地元で核軍縮に取り組む若者たちと対話を通じて交流を深めました。スタディツアーの最終日である8月29日に広島で開催された「ユース国際会議 核兵器なき世界の実現に向けて」には、スタディツアーの参加者に加え、国連ユニタール広島青少年大使プログラムとヒロシマピースボランティアの地元広島の若者も参加しました。会...
