Kossiwa J. Tossoukpe is the founder of KESecurix - Diversity in Security, and a former police officer in Zurich, Switzerland. At age 21, she was the youngest in her police academy class, and the first Black woman to join the force. Kossiwa studied at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York and the Graduate Institute in Geneva, Switzerland, where she obtained a Master's degree in International Relations and Global Security. In the aftermath of the Cancun climate change negotiations last December, UNITAR is preparing to relaunch its e-learning course on Climate Change Diplomacy, for which applications are already being received and places are being filled-up fast! The course is due to start on the February 21st and will run for a duration of eight weeks, providing professional training for diplomats, negotiators and other high-level officials prior to the climate change conference in Durban, South Africa, later this year.

On 17 July 2009, the First Spanish-speaking Capacity Development Programme for the Promotion of International Law: “Trends in International Law” was successfully completed. This training activity took place at the Peruvian Diplomatic Academy’s headquarters in Lima from 6 to 17 July 2009. It comprised two weeks of intensive and interactive course training aimed at participants from 19 Ibero-American countries. They were selected on the basis of a rigorous procedure.
