In November 2020, UNITAR hosted – in collaboration with the UN Statistics Division - three regional online workshops for the Latin American, African and Asian regions to demonstrate the use of the updated, collaborative StaTact platform to respond to new challenges that have arisen as a result of the COVID-19 crisis and to make necessary adjustments to the annual statistical programmes of work. His project, Ella Pad, started as a proposal for his Sustainable Consumption and Production e-course. Now, his plan to make sanitary napkins from garment scraps has moved beyond UNITAR’s online classrooms to MIT D-Lab and actual Bangladeshi garment factories.

September 2021 - Crowd4SDG Consortium has launched the second GEAR Cycle of the project. This year the project aims to address two Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – Goal 13 on Climate Change and Goal 5 on Gender Equality.
