2 May 2023, New York, USA.- The Data Diplomacy Project was featured during the 8th Multistakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI Forum), held under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) at UN headquarters in New York during the first week of May. Through the support of the UN Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR, NY Office) and of the Permanent Missions of Malta and Brazil to the UN, the project was displayed as an official side-event to the STI Forum. The event allowed the researchers Henry Iure Paiva, Rafael Mesquita, and Antonio Pires to showcase their respective data solutions in the fields of energy, multilateralism, and security.

26 April 2023, New York, USA – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), New York Office hosted a course on Artificial Intelligence and Diplomacy on Wednesday, 26 April 2023.

17 April 2023, New York, USA - UNITAR & Columbia Law School conducted the last session for the Spring series titled “The Power of Asking the Right Questions & Giving Effective Feedback”. Pelayo Alvarez, Programme Manager at UNITAR New York Office, started by welcoming our in-person and virtual audience and then introduced Rebecca Price, Director of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the Columbia Mediation Clinic team.

UNITAR (the United Nations Institute for Training and Research) is delighted to announce its partnership with ISRI (Instituto Superior de Relaciones Internacionales "Raúl Roa García"). On Wednesday, 5 April 2023, both parties met at the UNITAR headquarters in Geneva to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on both English and Spanish.  

The International Boxing Association (IBA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). The ceremony took place at UNITAR Headquarters in Geneva on Wednesday, 5 April 2023.

3 April 2023, New York, USA – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), New York Office and Columbia Law School hosted the second session of the Spring 2023 Columbia Law School Mediation Clinic training series. The workshop was entitled “Mediation and Human Rights” and took place on Monday, 3 April 2023.

24 March 2023, New York, USA – The Executive Director of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), Mr Nikhil Seth, visited New York from the 20th to the 24th of March 2023. With the 2023 UN Water Conference being held this week, the first in a generation, Mr Seth was able to attend its Opening Session, as well as the UNITAR’s side event on water and oceans entitled “Promoting a Water Culture Through Learning & Action”. The event brought together business executives from the five largest beverage companies in the world and sought to provide a venue for a collaborative partnership focused on delivering innovative training and building human capacities on pressing water-related issues at a large scale.

21 March 2023, New York, USA - UNITAR Office in New York and the Office of Legal Affairs of the United Nations Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (UN DOALOS) held the Briefing for Delegates on Oceans and the Law of the Sea on Tuesday, 21st March 2023 at Conference Room 11 of the United Nations Headquarters.
