This event highlighted the increasing complexities of diplomacy and the growing need for customized technological solutions to empower delegates, missions, and ministries. By addressing inefficiencies and streamlining bureaucratic processes, DiploTools aims to support diplomats in focusing on the core of their work: fostering international cooperation and dialogue.
UNITAR, in partnership with the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Section (INL) of the U.S. Department of State, the Financial Information and Analysis Unit (UIAF) of Colombia, and University of Antioquia, launched the Multidimensional Training Platform (PEM, for its acronym in Spanish) to strengthen Colombia’s fight against financial crime. The COP 29 side event on 11 November, “Public Participation Supporting the Construction of a Beautiful China”, focused on youth and public participation for climate action and was hosted at the China Pavilion. Director Mihoko Kumamoto delivered an opening speech and led a partnership signing.

He was nominated by his government to join the UNITAR 2024 programme on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation in Hiroshima, Japan. The programme provided him a fundamental understanding of nuclear disarmament, allowing him to approach his work with a broader perspective.
