UNOSAT rapid mapping was activated this March over Uganda in the aftermath of deadly landslides provoked by severe flooding in the region of Bududa.
OUAGADOUGOU -- On 31 March 2010, United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the Municipality of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso inaugurated the new headquarters of the International Training Center for Local Actors (CIFAL Ouagadougou).

From the 29th to 31th of March, Carlos Lopes, Executive Director of UNITAR, visited the Republic of Korea for a series of meetings to enhance cooperation with Korean institutions.
Jeju Special Self-Governing Province has been designated as the Island of World Peace by the government of Republic of Korea on 27 January 2005, and promotes Jeju as a place to discuss world peace through summit meetings and international conferences in efforts to make significant contribution to world peace and enhancement of stability on the Korean Peninsula.

The World Urban Forum (WUF) was established by the United Nations to examine one of the most pressing problems facing the world today: rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies, climate change and policies. The theme of the 5th World Urban Forum in 2010 is “The Right to the City: Bridging the Urban Divide.” The event attracted some 13,700 participants from 150 countries around the world.
