28 October 2022, Johannesburg, South Africa – Screening and Brief Interventions (SBI) for hazardous and harmful drinking are considered as a preventative approach which measures an individual’s drinking pattern during outpatient or wellness visits and provides interventions to those at risk of harmful use of alcohol. In addition, web-based information, self-testing and self-help guidance, using simple advice and education materials are some of the channels of information that can be further utilized to advance this objective.

Exclusive breastfeeding is one of the most effective ways to ensure child health and it is particularly important due to its role in lowering morbidity and mortality, reducing the risk of chronic diseases, respiratory infections, and certain noncommunicable diseases, amongst other benefits. Studies also show that exclusive breastfeeding practices between 0-23 months can contribute to save 804,000 children every year and 20,000 annual deaths from breast cancer.

7 September 2022, Merida , Mexico -  Recognizing that deaths and serious injuries related to road traffic crashes involving alcohol can be prevented, the International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Merida (CIFAL Merida) conducted the “Autosobriety Training Programme” to raise awareness amongst the community of the Merida International Airport about the risks of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Mr. Michel Doukeris, Chief Executive Officer of Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) and Mr. Nikhil Seth, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), renewed the partnership agreement between both organizations to continue to improve road safety. 17 June 2022, Bridgetown, Barbados – In the framework of the 10th IRF Caribbean Regional Congress “A Roadmap to a Safe and Resilient Road System” between 7 and 10 June 2022, UNITAR in collaboration with the International Road Federation and AB InBev offered a training workshop on "Management Practices for Safer Roads", and an executive session on “Diagnosing and Treating Road Injury Risk”. The Congress gathered more than 250 professionals from 32 countries, including 11 Ministers of Transport, and provided useful tools and learnings to regional challenges of road safety and climate-resilient infrastructure.
