30 November 2023, Thimphu, Bhutan - On 23-27 October 2023 the United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT) delivered a five-day training programme, under the ongoing project, “Strengthening Capacities in the Use of Geospatial Information for Improved Resilience in Asia-Pacific and Africa" funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD).  

The Climate Change Negotiations and Health e-course has been updated ahead of COP28. The course unpacks the interlinkages between climate change and health and aims to answer important questions, such as the current state of climate change negotiations at the international level with regard to health, and how climate change is impacting human health.

UN CC:Learn has affiliated three online courses developed by UN Climate Change that will get you up-to-speed on the international climate change process and the Paris Agreement.

This gala concert pays tribute to our commitment to empower individuals and organizations to create positive change for peace and sustainability.


6 October 2023, Geneva, Switzerland - Climate change is a global issue that requires targeted, adaptable, and tailored solutions. A solution that works well in one country, may not necessarily work as well in another country or region. This was evident at the recent Youth Climate Dialogue which brought together high school students from six countries as part of UNITAR’s 60th Anniversary celebrations.

6 October 2023, Geneva, Switzerland - To mark its 60th anniversary, UNITAR is organizing in Geneva, starting on the 2nd of October, a photo exhibition, displayed on the Rotonde du Quai du Mont-Blanc (across from the Brunswick Monument), will illustrate 60 years of history as well as stories of UNITAR alumni who made a positive change in their community. The alumni featured in the panel exhibition come from Bangladesh, Brazil, Cameroon, China, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Kenya, Maldives, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, United Arab Emirates and Vanuatu. The opening ceremony on the 6th of October (4 pm) of the photo exhibition will be attended by Mr. Nikhil Seth, the Executive Director of UNITAR, Ms. Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, H.E. Mr. Raymond Loretan, President of the Diplomatic Club of Geneva, and H.E. Mr. Alfonso Gomez, Mayor of Geneva.

13 December 2023, Geneva, Switzerland - The “Introduction to Sustainable Finance Taxonomies” affiliated e-course is now available in French and Spanish.

21 August 2023, Kigali, Rwanda - “The land of a thousand hills” – this statement is no exaggeration of the undulating landscape of Rwanda. The hills were also a welcoming sight for UNITAR’s pilot training on gender and climate change, organized in collaboration with the Gender Monitoring Office of Rwanda and CIFAL Kigali with support from the Ministry of Environment under the One UNITAR Gender initiative. The One UNITAR Gender promotes innovative learning solutions for women’s empowerment, building on extensive experiences and knowledge of all UNITAR divisions.
