Workshop II of Afghanistan Fellowship Successfully Concludes

UNITAR AFP Workshop II26 January 2017, Kabul, Afghanistan - The 13th annual cycle of UNITAR Hiroshima Office's Afghanistan Fellowship Programme - Inspiring Transformation completed its second workshop in Kabul on Thursday, 26 January at the French Medical Institute for Children (FMIC) Conference Centre. During the 5-day workshop, the selected 29 Fellows underwent intensive training on leadership, project proposal development, and characteristics of good governance. Each Fellow presented the Organizational Needs Assessment they had undertaken after the first workshop, and each group of Fellows chose one project that they will work on as a team for the rest of the Fellowship. The Fellows also undertook a range of team development exercises. 

The workshop was facilitated by a dedicated group of Coaches, Afghan Resource Persons and Mentors, who volunteer their time, experience and expertise, to guide the Fellows. Resource Persons for the workshop included Ahmad Masoud Tokhi, General Director, Civil Service Commission; and Musa Kamawi, Human Resources Director, Ministry of Finance.

UNITAR AFP Workshop IIFellows will continue to develop their group-based project proposals and undertake several online sessions, covering topics such as Gender at Work, and Identifying, Assessing and Mitigating Project Risk. The third and final workshop will be held in Hiroshima, Japan in April 2017.
