UNITAR participates in the Mohamed Bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations
8-9 October 2018, Abu Dhabi, UAE - UNITAR participated in the Mohamed Bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations in Abu Dhabi. Held under the direction of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. In a context of constant change in the UAE society, implied notably by the fourth industrial revolution, the Majlis is designed to inspire, energize and connect those responsible for shaping UAE’s future. To do so, a series of talks, presentations and workshops was organised over two days. The event welcomed about 2500 attendees, over 30 sessions, and over 20 speakers.
Mr. Rabih El-Haddad, Director of the Division for Multilateral Diplomacy of UNITAR, facilitated two sessions on the second day of this event. The first one was titled “Negotiating Success”. It was a simulation exercise in which negotiation strategies and principles were addressed. The second session was titled “The Ultimate Power Broker: Understanding Multilateral Diplomacy”. Participants engaged in a conversation on the future of work. In a particularly interactive session, several key topics for the future were discussed, including tomorrow’s skills, jobs and values. Students greatly appreciated the opportunity to discuss these matters with UNITAR staff members.
