UNITAR offers an Orientation course for new members of permanent missions. This five-day programme, the longest-running course offered to the New York diplomatic community, is intended primarily for diplomats recently assigned to United Nations Headquarters.  It  will take place from 5 to 9 April 2010.

Participants will be familiarized with the role and functions of the United Nations and its principal organs, improve their understanding of the negotiating processes and techniques within the United Nations context; and gain a better understanding of the functions of a permanent mission and the role of a diplomat in a multilateral setting.
