2 July 2025, Geneva, Switzerland - The CIFAL Global Network, coordinated by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), has published its 2025 Training Catalogue, outlining a comprehensive range of learning activities aimed at strengthening local capacities and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As the world reaches the midpoint of the Decade of Action to Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, this year’s catalogue underscores the continued importance of knowledge, training, and inclusive capacity-building in accelerating sustainable development efforts at all levels.
In 2024, the CIFAL Global Network organized 407 events, reaching over 153,000 participants worldwide through its 33 Centres. To keep its training offer aligned with global priorities, UNITAR conducted a comprehensive review of the Network’s thematic focus. This process led to the introduction of eight revised thematic clusters, ranging from Sustainability Learning to Infrastructure and Economic Development, covering more than 100 topics. To enhance coordination and visibility, UNITAR also launched the CGN-SDG Dashboard, which tracks event data and SDG contributions, and a dedicated website to centralise resources and showcase impact.
The 2025 Training Catalogue features a detailed calendar of upcoming learning activities offered by the CIFAL Global Network. These include workshops, training programmes, research initiatives, public awareness events, and stakeholder engagement activities, delivered in face-to-face, blended, and online formats. Beyond listing upcoming events, the Catalogue also serves to highlight the broader scope of work carried out by CIFAL Centres across diverse thematic areas and regions. It provides practical entry points for individuals and institutions to explore relevant topics and connect directly with the leading CIFAL Centre or UNITAR for further engagement and collaboration. A full list of CIFAL Centres and their contact information is available.
As communities and institutions continue to face complex challenges, the CIFAL Global Network remains committed to equipping individuals and organizations with the skills and knowledge needed to build a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future.
