14-17 June 2011, Tokyo, Japan. The inaugural UNITAR Diplomatic Training Series Session took place at United Nations University in Tokyo between June 14 and 17 2011. Attended by 19 diplomats resident in Japan, representing 17 nations, the programme examined the impact of culture on the frames of reference and working styles of those involved in multilateral environments.

Run by UNITARs Hiroshima Office, and in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Honduras to Japan, the Session is the first in a planned multi-event Series which will serve to engage with Tokyo’s diplomatic community through capacity building.

The Session was honoured to have had H.E. Mrs. Marlene Villela de Talbott, Ambassador of the Republic of Honduras to Japan, H.E. Mr. Seiko Luis Ishikawa Kobayashi, Ambassador of the Republic of Venezuela to Japan and H.E. Mr. Jimmy Ramiandrison, Ambassador of the Republic of Madagascar to Japan participate.
