10 September 2021, Hiroshima, Japan - UNITAR Division for Prosperity has released its first Global Impact Report on the performance of the Educate All open online course library. The Division’s first-ever interactive report summarizes how many lessons were downloaded and completed in 2020.
Imagine being able to curate your own library of mobile-first courses, for your own professional development or to share with others, all for free. This is precisely what EdApp and UNITAR offer through Educate All.
EdApp and UNITAR joined forces in 2020 to open this Educate All public course library of mobile lessons on timely topics related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The library features courses created by UNITAR as well as contributions from other UN agencies, the private sector, and individual content creators.
Educate All seeks to increase access to adult learning and professional development for underserved and vulnerable groups. The open courses are offered on a mobile-first platform because studies show that, in emerging economies, access to smartphones is more common than to a desktop or laptop computer.
This Global Impact Report reveals that a total of 4,519 learners in 132 countries accessed the lessons from the public library in the first year of this initiative (320 learners did not specify their region). UNITAR content has been particularly successful, with a higher completion rate than average traditional Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

This single EdApp lesson is for anyone who wants to learn more about Educate All or see how EdApp learning outcomes can be reported in a fun, engaging way.
The full interactive report is available via the EdApp platform. You can preview it or download the content from the Educate All library via the EdApp mobile app.
