CIFAL Bogota hosts the VI Sustainability Management Dialogue on “Corporate Government in the Digital Era”
8 November 2018, Bogota, Colombia - The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Bogota (CIFAL Bogota) jointly with the Regional Center of the Private Sector for the Support of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations hosted the VI Sustainability Management Dialogue on “Corporate Government in the Digital Era”.
This event was held on 30 August 2018 at the headquarters of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean in Santiago de Chile. Recognizing the pivotal role of the private sector to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is important to make steps forward to a sustainable and brighter future.
With that perspective, this event served as a platform that facilitates the dialogue and networking among twenty directors of important corporations in Latin America in order to strengthen their capacities in topics related to the SDGs.
In addition, the technological advancements worldwide were labelled as both the root of unemployment but also of improvement of productivity within corporations. These two outcomes have mixed impacts in the economy, for that reason a public-private sector partnership was discussed as the solution to cope the challenges of the Digital Era.
Directors shared their experiences and visions around the importance of Corporate Governance and Technological advancements within corporations- in the form of automation of jobs- and how those two elements can play a decisive role in the achievement of SDGs.
