10 October 2018, Atlanta, United States – The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Atlanta (CIFAL Atlanta) and the Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE) Greater Atlanta hosted a raising awareness event at the Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta, Georgia.

The primary work of the RCE is to offer broad-based, multi-stakeholder educational and training programs to support regional sustainable development efforts. The RCE aims to create a new regional model for collective impact, by harnessing higher education capacity and knowledge for regional benefit – and in the process, better preparing students to be sustainable development changemakers, in Greater Atlanta and beyond.

The event brought together 183 participants from the United States and 21 YSEALI Fellows from the ASEAN countries. Opening remarks came from RCE Greater Atlanta co-leaders and the Consul General of Switzerland also gave a short presentation.

CIFAL Atlanta and the RCE Youth Network have partnered to develop Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related materials tied to the various National Center for Civil and Human Rights exhibits. Furthermore, students from the Presidential Commission on Sustainability, College of Architecture of Kennesaw State University presented the SDGs at interactive exhibits at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.
