3-6 octubre de 2022, Nueva York, USA.- La oficina de UNITAR en Nueva York junto con el Programa de Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD), y la Asociación de Mujeres Diplomáticas de la República Dominicana (ADIDOM) trabajaron en un proceso de fortalecimiento de capacidades para mujeres diplomáticas en el ámbito de negociaciones multilaterales. Tras varias sesiones enfocadas en prácticas actuales, conceptos de las Naciones Unidas, casos de estudio y ejercicios dinámicos, alrededor de 40-50 diplomáticas del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de República Dominicana y otras organizaciones iberoamericanas coincidieron que el taller constituyó una herramienta de aprendizaje en el que se brinda oportunidades de empoderamiento, mentoría, orientación, y sobre todo participación activa de las diplomáticas.

27-30 September, New York, USA – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York Office developed the Strengthening Knowledge and Skills in Multilateral Diplomacy Induction Course for Kuwaiti diplomats. The private course, attended by 13 delegates, was designed to enhance the performance of diplomats from the Permanent Mission of Kuwait to the United Nations.

“I had a series of ‘awakenings’ throughout my life”, reveals Bárbara A. Smith straightaway. One of the most impactful was when she scuba dived for the very first time. “When we submerged, I discovered a myriad of colours in the corals, an unbelievable variety of fishes, sea turtles, and immense peace. It was as if I found ‘another world within ours’. I cannot put in words what it feels like to discover such an environment for the very first time, but I believe it must be a very similar experience to being in outer space.”

26 September 2022, New York USA – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) office in New York and the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence successfully launched the Peace, Education, and Dialogue event on Monday, 26th September 2022. The event aimed at enhancing the understanding of Peace, Education, and Dialogue by focusing on the role of youth for a better future and the Importance of bridging cultures from across the world to coexist peacefully. The event gathered around 100 students from well-renowned institutions such as New York University and Columbia University.
