Conferences
The objective of the Regional Breastfeeding Education Conference is to equip participants with training and learning tools to improve breastfeeding initiation and duration rates, as well as to enhance women's knowledge and skills related to breastfeeding.
The conference brought together participants to:
- Foster the exchange of knowledge and best practices in breastfeeding through training and education, aiming to improve breastfeeding initiation and duration rates across the region.
- Communicate the importance of breastfeeding to healthcare professionals, mothers, caregivers, and partners.
- Provide practical tools to support breastfeeding mothers in various settings, including at home, in healthcare facilities, in the workplace, and within the community.
El Salvador
UNITAR in close collaboration with the Government of the Republic of El Salvador was honoured to host the Regional Conference under the title “Regional Conference on Breastfeeding Education and Training of Trainers Workshop” which took place in San Salvador July 18-19, 2024. This conference brought together representatives of the countries of Central America and the Republic of El Salvador with the objective of promoting the exchange of good practices of breastfeeding, the protection and promotion of breastfeeding, and the establishment of lactation rooms.
