UNITAR

UNITAR, the Saudi Human Rights Commission, and Majmaah University—host of CIFAL Saudi Arabia—have joined efforts to create the Expert in Human Rights Programme from November 2024 to May 2025.

This unique learning initiative aims at strengthening the knowledge, skills, and attitudes on Human Rights of professionals from all sectors in the Kingdom, while considering frontier issues, such as leadership, geopolitics, communication, and public policies.

It is a 360º Programme with 3 components: self-paced, online lectures; face-to-face workshops; visits to the field, and Training of Trainers lessons. This enriching initiative has been the opportunity to better understand Human Rights through raising awareness, fostering partnerships, as well more accountable and fair societies.

So far, 130 participants have benefited from the first phase related to Fundamentals, and 60 of them continued to the second one after a careful selection process.

Riyadh and Geneva are the scenarios for holding lectures, visits, and networking for this training. An outstanding group of trainers and inspiring experts from different regions have joined this journey.

The partners envisage this Programme as a possibility to keep building blocks for strengthening the effective promotion and protection of Human Rights while renewing their commitment to empower people through knowledge.
