This research project considers a diverse range of themes that connect the Geoeconomic and the Geopolitical Landscape. Collaborating with Technological University Dublin, this PhD project seeks to explore the intersection between maritime security, the blue economy, and sustainable development. Focus on understanding the security challenges faced by coastal and maritime regions and how they impact the development of blue economy sectors such as fisheries, aquaculture, renewable energy, and marine tourism. The research could examine strategies to enhance maritime security while promoting sustainable development, including issues related to governance, international cooperation, resource management, and technological innovations.

PHD DETAILS
Supervisor: Dr Lucía Morales
Award Level: PhD
Mode of Study: Full-Time or Part-Time, with flexible modalities.
Student Requirements: Applicants from any discipline are welcome, subject to a 2.1 award.
Funding: Self-funded. (Fees and materials to be covered by the student; material costs are not significant.)
