広島、長崎、東京から集まった若者39名が、核軍縮・不拡散と持続可能な未来についてプレゼンテーションを行い、上位に選ばれたグループがそれぞれのアイデアを専門家のパネリストを前に発表し、意見を仰ぎました。
パネリストらは、参加者全員が実りある議論と発表を行い、核なき社会と 持続可能な未来の実現に向けた第一歩を踏み出したことに称賛を送り、持続可能な理想の未来を実現するために、若者が行動し、メッセージを発信し続けることの重要性を強調しました。

2021年6月10日・広島 ― 新型コロナウイルスの危機は、これまで世界が進めてきた持続可能な開発目標(SDGs)への歩みを妨げ、後戻りさせている。いまだ、パンデミックによる影響の全容は把握しきれていない。一方で、私たちが望む世界を2030年までに実現させるために、どのような行動を起こしていくのか、自身に問いかける機会も与えてくれていると言える。
上智大学のオンラインシンポジウム「コロナ禍のSDGsへのインパクトと今後の展望」での基調講演で、国連事務次長補兼国連ユニタール総代表ニキル・セスはこのように語りました。
上智大学大学院の植木安弘教授がモデレーターを務めたパネルディスカッションでは、国連開発計画(UNDP)インド常駐代表の野田章子氏やUNDP駐日代表の近藤哲生氏を交えて議論。学生など247人がオンラインで聴講しました。
